We are situated just 10 minutes outside the town of Hluhluwe on the R22 to Sodwana. From the N2 take the Sodwana turn off, go through Hluhluwe town and follow signs to Sodwana over the railway. We are about 5 minutes along that road. Do not take any of the False Bay turn offs.
Take the Kuleni Game Reserve turning and follow signs for Umkhumbi from there.
Kosi Bay is situated at the most eastern point in South Africa, just inside the southernmost border of Mozambique. Amangwane Camp is accessible with a normal car. Please note that pre-booking is essential.
Take the N2 past Ermelo and Piet Retief. After Lake Jozini turn left through Jozini town. Keep on that road following signs for Kosi Bay and Farazela border. The road has some potholes so be aware.
Drive towards the southernmost border between South Africa and Mozambique, past KwaNgwanase.
Just before you hit the border (about 10 minutes past the town) there is a graded dirt road to the right (the only one in the vicinity) with a signpost for Utshwayelo campsite. (If you hit the border you've gone too far, turn back less than a kilometre.) Follow that road for about 3.5 kms. There are some unmarked speed bumps along this road that are difficult to spot, so we recommend driving slowly. Amangwane is on the right (look for the sign).
